Helen Dao, MHA, Appointed to Advisory Board of NJ Asian American Association for Human Services

Helen Dao has been appointed to the advisory board for the New Jersey Asian American Association for Human Services. Dao will advise the agency as it addresses the educational and psychosocial needs of the state’s Asian American population.
 
Oct. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Dao Management Consulting Services, Inc., is pleased to announce that its President and CEO, Helen Dao, MHA, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the New Jersey Asian American Association for Human Services (NJAAAHS). In that role she will advise NJAAAHS so that their new 2012 programs and services will be culturally competent.

“I am pleased to be working with NJAAAHS,” say Dao. “The agency has a strong role in advocating for the Asian American community in the state. I believe that with my expertise and experience in cross-cultural communication and cultural competency, I can help NJAAAHS address the educational and psychosocial needs of members of the Asian American community.”

Dao is a recognized expert in the field of cross-cultural communication in health care. She works with health care institutions such as Los Angeles Children’s Hospital to remove the cultural and language barriers that minority and underserved individuals can face in health care.

The New Jersey Asian American Association of Human Services (www.njaaahs.org) was founded in 1993 to provide human services and to present a united front for NJ’s Asian Americans. Today, the association provides the Asian American community with statewide forums, health fairs and conferences to improve community members’ quality of life. The agency also serves as a community advocate and works to eliminate disparity and inequality in health care for Asian Americans.
