Oct. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- SANTA may be conspicuous by his absence from Chester’s Christmas Lights switch-on evening but he will be the star of the show at the Forum Shopping Centre and Chester Market on Saturday November 12th.

Two days after the Lord Mayor and Mayoress officially mark the arrival of the season of goodwill, Santa will arrive in his usual style – on a glittering sleigh pulled by real reindeer – to delight crowds of on-lookers across the city centre as he makes his way to The Forum and Chester Market.

And Father Christmas will have a very special passenger on the day – in the shape of the lucky local boy or girl who wins the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to accompany Mr Claus on his arrival in the city.

“We are very much looking forward to a very traditional start to the season and I know families from across the region will offer their support by turning up to welcome Santa to Chester, “ said Mr Lawrence Allen, the Forum’s Centre Manager who played a key role in organising the Christmas event on behalf of The Forum and Chester Market.

“The Forum and Chester Market are truly family destinations so we joined forces to ensure that we give Christmas and Santa Claus the welcome they deserve. Santa’s pre-Christmas arrival in Chester is an event that hundreds if not thousands of families look forward to – and we are determined that this year’s visit by Santa will be better than ever.”

Santa’s reindeer-drawn sleigh is due to glide into view in the Town Hall Square just after noon on the day at which point he will tour the city centre before arriving back in the Square.

“Santa’s reindeer will be led to a pen in Northgate Street where families and children can get a closer look at them while Santa and his young helper walk through the Forum and Chester Market to greet shoppers, retailers and stall-holders,” added Mr Allen.

“We will also be introducing Santa and the lucky youngster to our brand new attraction, our magical family of animated polar bears at home in their snowy Christmas scene, so I urge everyone to put the morning of November 12th into their diaries.”
