Oct. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Is there something in the air that smells like fairy tales? At a time in which ABC just announced the launching of their new TV series, “Once Upon a Time,” Maria Mar, a personal growth expert for women announces her book “Rewrite your Fairy Tales for Success.” In this book, Mar reveals how women can use the five most famous feminine fairy tales as a map to break free from limitations and make their dreams come true.

“The new ABC series may have hit a nerve in women’s lives. Many scripts that trap women in the past and sabotage their success have to do with our favorite childhood fairy tales,” says Mar, who has helped thousands of women in three continents to unleash their greatness.

In the book “Rewrite your Fairy Tales for Success (Unleash your Greatness),”  the author reveals that these fairy tales are archetypal maps to the emotional "curses" women experience in childhood and adolescence. Mar shows how the "curses" work. The “curse" is an emotional wound inflicted to a woman during childhood as a result of the dynamic between the mother and her.

Here is the curse or wound that each fairy tale portrays:

•   Cinderella – caretaking syndrome, selflessness, self-sacrifice
•   Rapunzel – invisibility, fear of public speaking, inability to sing or speak from her voice of power
•   Ugly Duckling – sense of insufficiency, low self-esteem, self-judgment and feeling of not being enough which leads to self-sabotage, and to workaholism and perfectionism as an attempt to do more in order to be accepted
•   Snow White – fear of asserting one’s authority, fear of rejection, playing small, playing safe

“’Once Upon a Time’ is an archetypal phrase,” says Maria Mar. “It brings us back into the world of storytelling. But it is also a reminder that that time is still alive and kicking inside our real life, here and now, as long as we are under the spell of the ‘curses’ or wounds that cover our radiance.”

In “Rewrite your Fairy Tales for Success,” Maria Mar hopes to provide a roadmap for women to give themselves permission to create authentic success and happiness in their lives. Maria is offering the book and a three-month support program, “Bless Your Success,” to help women unleash their greatness. The book is available online at
