Oct. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer. His collections are defined as slim, beautifully-cut, architecturally-constructed designs with an emphasis on subtle details.  He is known for his technology-driven clothing designs, exhibitions and fragrances.


Miyake was born in Hiroshima in 1938. Miyake studied graphic design at Tokyo’s Tama Art University, and after graduation he moved in 1965 to Paris, where he enrolled at the renowned tailoring and dressmaking school École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.


He began his career in 1966, working behind the scenes for four years in ateliers operated by a trio of 20th-century fashion legends—French couturiers Guy Laroche and Hubert de Givenchy as well as the meticulous American designer Geoffrey Beene. He established the Miyake Design Studio in 1970 and started showing his line at the Paris collections in 1973.

Speaking in flowers is central to Japanese culture and is very important to their culture.
Hydrangea means "pride" in Japan and are thought to provide peace and serenity to the recipient.

Iris flower symbolizes trust, an impenetrable friendship and faith. Being on the receiving end of a bunch of irises is a great honour in Japan.

The yellow Chrysanthemum flower means "golden flower’’ and is prominent on the imperial family crest and conveys longevity of friendship and joy.

Lily, the meaning is depending on its color. A person given a white lily is considered pure and chaste. In contrast, tossing someone an orange one denotes hatred and anger.

Ikebana flower is a form of art. There are schools that teach intricate arranging according to style and symbolism.

But remember many of these are beautiful flowers also holding poison.
