4C Totally Light 2Go Volley America Nationals Come to Clearwater Beach

Oct. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- The Volley America National Championships will come to Clearwater Beach on October 22-23. Teams from throughout the country will compete for $5,000 cash prizes, $2500 each in the men and women’s divisions. Tournament play will start at 9 am with finals scheduled for 5 pm each day. Admission is free for all spectators.

Spalding is sponsoring the event and supplying King of the Beach Volleyballs and prize money for the event in addition to Corona Light and other sponsors. Over 250 teams from 20 states and Canada are expected.

Volley America is an organization for beach volleyball promoters throughout the US whose goal is to promote beach volleyball around the country. By cooperating and charging a national membership fee, players are able to compete in numerous tournaments, earn national ranking points and qualify for end of the season cash prizes in the $25,000 Volley America Grand Prix. In 2011 over 10,000 players became members. Many will be at the National Championships in Clearwater Beach.

Separate divisions will be held for players of intermediate and novice levels on Saturday and Sunday. The $60 entry fee entitles players to a full day of tournament play, an official Volley America National Championships tournament t-shirt, admission to the Saturday evening player’s party at The Boatyard Grill and a chance to win merchandise prizes from tournament sponsors 4C Totally light 2Go, Corona Light, Spalding, Rider Sandals, Sarasota Convention & Visitors Bureau, Rox Volleyball, Bally’s Casino, Zem Booties, 1st Place Volleyball, SOB Volleyball Vacations, Sweet Tomatoes, Park & Sun net systems, Dig Magazine, Sportime, Horry County, Spike Key, Sarasota County Parks Dept., and Siesta Key Holiday Inn Express. The public can met the players Saturday evening at the official Corona Light Player’s Party Boatyard Grill.
