Oct. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Today's Caregiver magazine and http://www.caregiver.com, celebrating 17 years of service to family and professional caregivers, announced today that Patricia Richardson will keynote the November 3rd Fearless Caregiver Conference at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven, Connecticut. Ms. Richardson, best known as Jill Taylor on TV’s Home Improvement, as well as for her work on stage and screen is also a long time care advocate for people in need.  A limited number of tickets, sponsored by the Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut, are still available by calling 877-829-2734 or visiting http://www.FearlessCaregiver.com.

Patricia Richardson is a board member of the Progressive Supernuclear Palsy Foundation (PSP) and is a vocal supporter of families dealing with PSP, an illness that affected her father, and other such rare diseases. Ms. Richardson joins the list of celebrities who have taken part in Fearless Caregiver Conferences, including Debbie Reynolds, Della Reese, Clay Aiken, Linda Dano, Leeza Gibbons and Clay Walker by keynoting the 112th Fearless Caregiver Conference hosted by Today’s Caregiver magazine, caregiver.com, and the Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut.

“I have long been a fan of Ms. Richardson’s work as an actor, and after interviewing her for the July/August 2011 cover interview of Today’s Caregiver magazine and knowing her tireless work as a caregiver advocate, I am extremely excited about her joining us in New Haven on November 3rd,” said Gary Barg, Editor-in-Chief of Today’s Caregiver magazine and caregiver.com. “I think the event attendees will be as taken as I am by her passion, warmth, humor and desire to help her fellow family caregivers.”

Family and professional caregivers, grandparents raising grandkids and community caregivers make up nearly one million Connecticut residents and, according to a Stanford University study, stress will cause 40 percent of caregivers to die before their loved ones do.  The best way to combat those statistics is with education, support and a sense of community.

Join Ms. Richardson and caregiving experts from the Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut, The State of Connecticut, Zweena, Chase Medical Research, the Alzheimer’s Association and dozens of other valuable caregiving resources for the day to learn what support is available in South Central Connecticut as you care for your loved ones.

Fearless Caregiver Tour History: More than 40,000 caregivers have attended a Fearless Caregiver Conference since Today’s Caregiver magazine started this tour in 1998. “The best part of the event, other than the ability to answer direct questions of family caregivers, is seeing family caregivers meet others dealing with similar caregiving situations when they had thought that nobody else could possibly understand what they were going through as they care for their loved ones,” said Gary Barg, host of the Fearless Caregiver Conferences and Editor-in-Chief of Today’s Caregiver magazine. “I have seen some tremendously supportive relationships begin from these events and they have lasted for years.”

“The latest stops in Orlando, Nashville and Miami were tremendous successes with hundreds of family and professional caregivers participating in full-day events where they received answers to their caregiving questions from physicians, spiritual leaders, and healthcare experts on topics such as  Alzheimer’s, MS, cancer, diabetes, VA caregiving and Parkinson’s,” Barg said.

Registration Includes lunch:  Only a limited number of free tickets are still available for family caregivers to attend the New Haven area Fearless Caregiver Conference on November 3rd. Tickets are available at FearlessCaregiver.com or by calling 877-829-2734. Anthony’s Ocean View, 450 Lighthouse Road, is located at exit 50 off I-95 in New Haven.
