-- MK Lightning have announced that they are continuing with support to local primary schools and other schools through their school enterprise scheme which has been run successfully in previous years. The scheme consists of a visit to the school by the ice hockey team’s representatives and mascot, Pucky to meet the children. The children participating in the scheme are then encouraged to use their own enterprising skills in selling tickets to a designated game to other students, teachers, parents, family and friends of the school. The tickets are specially priced offering these special guests to a certain chosen game a special discounted price. The best part of this scheme for the school is, MK Lightning, give half of the funds raised from the sale of these special tickets back to the school.
This enterprising scheme from MK Lightning, the local premier ice hockey team in Milton Keynes, http://www.skateinfo.org/ice-hockey-milton-keynes.html
gives great benefits to both parties involved. By MK Lightning visiting the schools and offering a special discounted price ticket encourages new people to come and take a look and experience the highly fast and exciting game of ice hockey which provides all round good sporty entertainment for the family. MK Lightning get a great buzz for their play, when playing to a fuller crowd as well as the obvious financial benefit of extra ticket sales. However the sharing idea of this school enterprise scheme also helps the participating schools and their students. It gives the schools another option to involve the families of the students and friends of the school to raise valuable and extra funds for the school which can be used in many ways such as the purchase of additional books and equipment, improvement to the school grounds, buildings or play areas which the students will all benefit from. There is also a benefit to the students involved in the scheme. They can take their part in organizing and selling tickets, in any way possible, giving them a real life experience of business by advertising, selling and promoting an event and something they can all be proud of.
Not only does this scheme introduce new supporters to the game of ice hockey but can give an opportunity to youngsters who may wish to learn and take part in playing ice hockey themselves. MK Lightning support a well organized junior ice hockey league which is available to children of all ages once they have all the protective ice hockey equipment. http://skateinfo.org/ice-hockey-equipment/
This scheme seems to be a win win opportunity for all parties involved and is very popular with the local schools.
