By: University of Missouri-St. Louis “In having an LSAT prep course on campus, UMSL students have yet another valuable in-house resource to help prepare them for their journey toward law school matriculation,” The LSAT exam provides a standard measure of acquired reading and verbal reasoning skills that law schools can use as one of several factors in assessing applicants. Students are tested on Reading Comprehension, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and a writing sample. The LSAT is administered four times per year – October, December, February and June. Many law schools require that the LSAT be taken by December for admission the following fall. The upcoming test date is December 3, 2011. UMSL’s Test Prep is offered through Educational Testing Consultants. ETC is a University program, offering the University’s valuable skills and knowledge. The instructors are specifically trained to teach the exam subjects, and the curriculum developers have years of experience writing LSAT exam questions. Classes are held on UMSL’s campus and are limited to 30 students to ensure personal attention. “There are more than four hundred UMSL graduates practicing law in the St. Louis region,” said Terry Jones, political science departmental chair. “We are committed to being an institution of choice in preparing students for law school.” The course fee of $899 includes instruction as well as all course materials and practice tests.
