Sixteen teams line up for this weekend's Chaophya Park Hotel Thailand International Cricket Sixes

Oct. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Sixteen cricket teams from Thailand and around the world are poised to compete at the Chaophya Park Hotel Thailand International Cricket Sixes being staged at Harrow International School, Bangkok, Thailand October 21-23, 2011.



Teams will be flying into Thailand from Kuwait, UAE, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UK and Singapore for the popular 3 day sports event.



The tournament features an exciting, all action six-a-side format in which matches take just 30 minutes to play and provide great entertainment and fun for both players and spectators.



“Sixteen teams from ten different countries playing in the tournament is a wonderful reflection on the popularity of the Thailand Sixes to cricketers across the world,” said Tournament Director Ian Liddell of the Asian Cricket Sixes Tour.



The tournament is again titled sponsored by the Chaophya Park Hotel and also receives fantastic support from the Tourism Association of Thailand.



Tournament organisers are monitoring the recent flooding difficulties in Thailand closely. “It’s obviously an issue we’re keeping a close eye on in conjunction with our event partners and stakeholders in Bangkok,” said Mr Liddell. “Cricket was played on the Harrow school cricket ground over the weekend and at this time we are all systems go and looking forward to another great cricket tournament in Bangkok in a few days time,” Mr Liddell continued.



The tournament is organized by the Asian Cricket Sixes Tour in conjunction with tournament hosts The Southerners Cricket Club.



In addition to the Chaophya Park Hotel and the Tourism Association of Thailand, the Thailand International Sixes 2011 is supported by San Miguel beer, Asia Escape Holidays, the Cross Bar, R&K Investments, Imran Sports International and the MBMG Group.



The tournament will be played from Friday to Sunday at Harrow International School, Bangkok. Food and refreshments are available at the ground, spectators are welcome and entry for spectators is free.
