2012 Redondo Beach Veterans Day Ceremony

Traditional Veterans Day services in Redondo Beach by the Redondo Pier. Event will take place on Veterans Day at the new Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial in Veterans Park and is open to the public.
Nov. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Redondo Beach,CA- 4 November 2012.     Redondo Beach will celebrate Veterans Day on Sunday 11 November 2012  in Veterans Park by the Redondo Beach Pier. The service will be a solemn rememberence and thanks to all veterans of all the Armed services.
   Local elected officials  and military dignitaries will participant including Redondo Mayor Mike Gin, Supervisor Don Knabe, a Navy veteran, USAF veteran State Senator Ted Lieu and Army veteran, Colonel Kurt Schlichter of Redondo Beach. The Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial Task Force will make a presentation to Rachael Bogert, daughter of the late Daily Breeze columnist John Bogert who was a vocal advocate for the new Veterans Memorial in Redondo Beach.
    The event will include commentary and music including the LA Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums and the Redondo High School Wind Ensemble and Chorale. The Redondo High Marine Corps JROTC and Boy Scouts are supporting the service..
     The ceremony is hosted by the City of Redondo Beach, the Redondo Elks Lodge, # 1378 and the Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial Task Force.
      The service will start at 1PM and is open to the public.                                                         The ceremony will be followed by a BBQ by the Elks. Free to veterans and members of the military. A $5 donation by all others.
