Nicole Garcia Joins Occasionally Cake of Alexandria, Va.

Oct. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- This time last year, Nicole Garcia was skiing the slopes in her hometown of Park City, Utah and finishing up her education at Brigham Young University. One year later and settled in the Washington, D.C. area, Garcia is fulfilling her life-long dream of cake decorating.  Although she earned a degree in advertising, Garcia’s creative eye has always been poised for the flair and imagination for cake decorating, which led her to Occasionally Cake of Alexandria, Va. Garcia first started decorating cakes during her undergraduate studies, when she was asked to make a friend's wedding cake between semesters. That first cake prompted many more, and Nicole quickly realized that she was enjoying baking more than her regular studies. In addition to spending time in the bakery, Nicole is a supporter of the Garmeen Foundation, which helps the poorest have access to microfinance and technology and she’s is an avid piano player as well. She also enjoys touring the sites in Washington, D.C. with her husband.

The Alexandria cake boutique offers more than 100 cake flavors, but their signature cake flavors include: Summer Delight, Chocolate Madness, Perfectly Pumpkin, and Pink Champagne. Some of their cupcake flavors include: Carrot Cake, Chocolate-dipped Strawberry, Cookies N’ Cream, Fuzzy Navel, Key Lime Cheesecake, Neapolitan, Red Velvet, Tiramisu, The Elvis and Yin and Yang.

Pricing for cakes vary, but generally, cakes are priced per serving and can range from $6.50 to $8 per serving. Party cakes start at $4 a serving.  Depending on the design difficulty of the cake, prices are subject to change. Cupcakes are priced individually, starting at $2.75 each for basic flavors and icing swirl on top.Occasionally Cake is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
