Oct. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- BOSTON, MA – October 13, 2011 – Temperature@lert, a leading provider of real-time, cloud-based environmental monitoring solutions designed to enable businesses to mitigate temperature and critical parameter related disasters, is pleased to announce our own Michelle Keefe has been named a finalist in this year’s Stevie® Award competition.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run – worldwide.  The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Friday, November 11.  Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S.A and several other countries are expected to attend.   The presentations will be broadcast live on radio in the U.S.A. by the Business TalkRadio Network.

More than 1,300 entries – a record for the competition - were submitted this year for consideration in 75 categories, including Best Executive, Best Entrepreneur, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year.  Temperature@lert’s Michelle Keefe is a Finalist in the “Best Executive – Non-Services Businesses – up to 100 Employees” category.

Temperature@lert’s Founder and CEO, Harry Schechter describes Michelle as the company’s Sustainability Seer. “Entrepreneurial companies are old hat for Michelle - having successfully run and sold her first business, Misha K, before the age of 30.  She now joins Temperature@lert and keeps a watchful eye on business practices that impact the Earth. Her innovative reverse logistics [electronics reclamation] program has significantly reduced the waste stream from Temperature@lert products and improved earnings performance.  We are proud to have her on our team and for her selection as a finalist for this year’s Stevie Awards.”

Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.
Members of the six final judging committees will select Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging.

“Women entrepreneurs and executives continue to innovate, excel, and impress,” said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards.  “Regardless of general economic conditions, the achievements of women-owned and –run organizations around the world remain high, and are reflected in this year’s impressive body of Finalists.”

“Michelle’s contribution to our small and mid-sized farm irrigation water conservation initiative has been impressive,” noted Harry Schechter.  “Her passion for sustainable business practices and her recent completion of a Masters Degree in Environmental Management at Harvard bring environmental leadership to our executive level focus.”
