By: Dan Dunlop Hundreds of Lexington Medical Center employees, including several breast cancer survivors, gathered on our hospital campus to dance in the video wearing pink gloves with a routine choreographed to the Katy Perry song “Firework.” To vote for Lexington Medical Center’s video, go http://www.lexmed.com and click on “Watch Us Dance Cancer Away!” Vote by clicking “Like” using your Facebook account. You can also forward the link on your Facebook page to your Facebook friends so that they can vote for Lexington Medical Center, too. You can also view the video by going to www.pinkglovedance.com and searching for Lexington Medical Center’s entry. “Lexington Medical Center employees are passionate about their community, they are passionate about their work, and they are passionate about breast cancer,” said Mark Shelley, director of Marketing at Lexington Medical Center. “The outpouring of enthusiasm and support shown in our hospital’s video is heartfelt, sincere and inspiring.” The original Pink Glove Dance video premiered in 2009 in Portland, Oregon with hospital workers wearing pink gloves and dancing in support of breast cancer awareness. That video received more than 13 million You Tube views and spawned hundreds of pink glove dance videos across the country. Additionally, the dance has been featured on national television news programs. The response to the videos from health care workers, cancer survivors and family members around the world has been overwhelming and heartwarming. Medline Industries Incorporated, a company that manufactures pink gloves, filmed the first video. Vote for Lexington Medical Center today!
