411 VOICES expert Maimah Karmo Featured in ESSENCE magazine with First Lady, Michele Obama

Oct. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- October13, 2011  Reston, Virginia   411 VOICES Life Leadership Expert, Maimah Karmo has been chosen to share the October 2011 issue of ESSENCE magazine with First Lady Michele Obama.  ESSENCE has chosen October to spotlight women’s health and Ms. Karmo is known for her tireless supporter of breast cancer education and advocacy for young women.  
Founder of the Tigerlily Foundation, Maimah Karmo is a five - year breast cancer survivor. She has most recently received the 2011 Congressional Black Caucus Leadership Advocacy Award for her work with breast cancer survivors and education. 411 VOICES has worked in concert with Ms. Karmo to help relay her mission through sponsorship and media.  Ms. Karmo has appeared on Good Morning America, the Oprah Winfrey Show, and CBS NEWS, in addition to several other media outlets Karmo received the L’Oreal Paris’ Woman of Worth award. She created the Tigerlily Foundation in 2006 in hopes of giving other women a helpful resource. She extended her mission by joining 411 VOICES in the Spring of 2011.
