Ihsan Bilal extols Military Widows in the Pursuit of Academia

The eclectic R&B soul artist will present selections from her July 2011 released album “Big Red Box” in celebration and support of the foundation’s heroic efforts to provide pecuniary aid for surviving military wives and single mother pursuing an education in nursing.

“It’s my belief that the strength of women is not always recognized, but through difficult situations it becomes obvious.” Said Bilal “This effort is a true testament to that strength-and I am honored to lend my voice in commemoration of that bravery; press on ladies”
The Warford Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides assistance to widows and single mothers through self sustainability and academic enrichment.  This is made possible through their Project Impact Scholars program.  Headed by Parthenia Warford, a 20 year U.S. Army soldier and single mother, the foundation prides itself on providing financial assistance in support of women and new beginnings.

Ihsan Bilal Bio

Singer, songwriter and producer Ihsan Bilal was born in Moreno Valley, CA, although reared in Washington DC.  Bilal began her career as a member of the Black Alley Band opening for Jadakiss and Kanye West following her training at Duke Ellington School of the Arts. She later went solo where her swift rise to recognition resulted in her being a finalist in the Ne-Yo’s Search for a Superstar Competition.
In recent years, the petite, avant-garde beauty has garnered an unmistakable presence on the heels of greats like Michael Jackson and Denise Williams.
Bilal released her debut album “Big Red Box” and was crazed over single “Big Band Theory.” She is no doubted creating buzz and gaining media attention; this succession includes international notice including: Crunk Magazine, Soul City Radio, Monarch Magazine and countless other publications praising her enthusiastic production.

She has co-written and produced tracks for notables akin Raheem Devon, Tabi Bonney, Fat Joe, and Phil Ade; performed the national anthem for the WNBA; headlined the main event for the multi-national Black Family Reunion and was a key performer for the opening of a new location for Macy’s.

Ihsan is a versatile talent with an unconventional production pushing the preverbal envelope to raise the standards of music and all that it encompasses.
