Oct. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- On October 24, people from around the world will gather at Atlanta’s iconic Fox Theatre for the black tie Epoch Missions Gala, a chance to recognize and celebrate the past, present, and future of missions.  Presenters include regular CNN contributor, Jon Acuff; author of “The Scent of Water”, Naomi Zacharias; Atlanta musician, Aaron Keyes;  and Founder/General Counsel of National Christian Foundation, Bill High.  A special performance by the Light the World Parade and Atlanta Jungle Boogie Crew, who appeared on America’s Best Dance Crew will conclude the gala.

$50,000 will be awarded during the evening to individuals and organizations dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others.  Over 400 nominations from 25 countries recognized change agents who address a wide range of social issues including poverty, water advocacy, HIV/AIDS, sex trafficking, discipleship, homelessness, and church planting.   Award finalists range from local organizations such as Atlanta’s own Beltline Bike Shop as they connect underserved children with community service and a chance to earn a bike to global outreaches like Trash Mountain, which aids the impoverished people living in the garbage dumps around the world.

Tickets to the Epoch Missions Gala are $150 each.  Tickets to the post-gala VIP Party at the Livingston Restaurant + Bar are available for $50.  Guests who purchase 10 or more tickets to the Gala will receive two tickets to the VIP event.  Visit www.epochmissionsgala.com to purchase tickets, make a contribution, and to learn more.

A team of industry leaders reviewed each nomination to determine award finalists in the following six areas:  Innovative Start-Up, Restoring Places, Outstanding Work in the Lives of Individuals, Collaborative Project, Creativity, and People’s Choice.
