East Atlanta Kids Club Receives Grant from the Atlanta Braves Foundation For After-School Program

The Atlanta Braves Foundation awarded the East Atlanta Kids Club $2,500 to support their After-School Program used to reach under-resourced youth.

Oct. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- ATLANTA, Georgia–The East Atlanta Kids Club is pleased to announce they have received a $2,500 grant from the Atlanta Braves Foundation. East Atlanta Kids Club (EAKC) will use the award to support both their Kids Club and Teen Club after-school programs, and to support their mission to build a promising future for the children of southeast Atlanta. The grant will help fund supplies, field trips and special educational projects.

“We are proud to receive this support from the Braves, which will enhance our ability to deliver high-quality after-school activities to promising youth in our community,” says Jill Sieder, Executive Director of East Atlanta Kids Club.  

EAKC’s after-school program occurs in a safe environment where kids are engaged in a variety of educational, recreational and social activities. The program provides tutoring, mentoring and fun fitness and enrichment activities on weekday afternoons and on weekends. The program is designed to prepare kids for successful high school and post-secondary educational and vocational experiences.

The Atlanta Braves Foundation supports numerous community organizations in the metro Atlanta area. The ABF grants funds to organizations that serve youth and focus on health, education and recreation, and award grants through a competitive application and review process.

Since 1998, the East Atlanta Kids Club has provided a safe environment for youth to learn, play and build positive relationships. Based at Brownwood Park Recreation Center, EAKC collaborates with the City of Atlanta Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and other partners to provide quality recreational and enrichment opportunities for our community’s neediest children.
