Stellar Blue Launches Mobile Website for Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce

Oct. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce launched their first ever mobile website this October. The mobile version of their website contains contact information, the member directory, calendar of events and the membership application. The Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce is the first chamber in the valley to take advantage of creating a website that is mobile compatible.

The Chamber worked with their web provider, Stellar Blue Web Design, to help facilitate a mobile website that mirrored their current website. Stellar Blue presented the opportunity to the chamber in preparation of how the Internet is growing and how it is being used. According to an infographic released by Microsoft Tag, “in 2014, mobile internet usage will overtake desktop internet usage and already in 2011, more than 50% of all ‘local’ searches are done from a mobile device.”

The mobile website will allow the users to easily navigation through the important aspects of the website content as well as swiftly contact the Chamber.

“The growth of mobile usage is growing exponentially,” said Stellar Blue Creative Director Greg Waters. “For business or not for profit, the possibilities are endless. It also sends the message that they are willing to provide for their members whether it’s online or on the phone.”

A mobile site is a website, which is specifically designed for optimum performance when viewed not on a regular computer screen but on a small mobile device such as a Smartphone. A Smartphone is a handheld device that integrates mobile phone capabilities with the more common features of a computer. When you access a website on your Smartphone, and if there is a mobile website, the web server detects that you are accessing it from a phone and will automatically route you to the mobile version.
