Zimbabwe Deputy Prime Minister Mutambara to attend ZimExpo UK 2011
Beginning 14th October 2011, all roads for the Zimbabwean community in the United Kingdom lead to the humble City of Leicester for the largest event of the year to be held at the Leicester Tigers Conference Centre, Aylestone Road, Leicester LE2 7TR
Saturday will see the star proceedings of the weekend, marking the formal Business Exhibition for companies, corporations and organisations both from Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom. Institutions whose services benefit Zimbabweans home and away, will be showcasing their portfolios and wowing patrons as to why they are the best in the trade.
The highlight of this event will be the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr. Arthur Mutambara, who will give a presentation on why every Zimbabwean should not forget home and explain why investing in Zimbabwe now, is the best way forward. He will also address a few audience questions. There can never be a better spokesperson for this than the man at the brim of the entire country.
Dr. Mutambara will be saddled by Mr. Supa Mandiwanzira, President of the Affirmative Action Group in Zimbabwe and Mr.Tafadzwa Musarara, Chairman of Africa Economic Development Strategies. Supa is a formidable speaker who combines his articulate oration to knowledge of Zimbabwean commerce and the life of an ordinary Zimbabwean. Running on the theme of “Cultivating wealth back home for a sustainable and bright future”, both Supa and the Deputy Premier address key concerns that the Zimbabweans in the Diaspora have held to date. The Zimbabwe Diaspora Economic forum will also launch the Zimbabwe Business Network International (ZBNI) which will pledge to coordinate a systematic and two way communication route over the triangle of the foreign based Zimbabwean, the State and the Zimbabwe Business world. At such a forum, key investment interests will be acknowledged and registered, and a road map to a secure investment return for Zimbabweans.
The duo will be flanked by a powerhouse of elite business executives from Zimbabwe who will be giving highlights of the business environment in Zimbabwe. While there is a critical speculation of the dire trading situation in Zimbabwe, the team will be outlining the practical business environment in Zimbabwe. An exchange of plans, strategy, ideas and links will be the focus for Saturday afternoon. Business exhibits will be open on Saturday all day. Booths are still available for rent.
2010 ZimAward winning and 2011 BEFFTA Award nominee ZimOnline Radio (http://www.zimonlineradio.com) will be conducting live and post-production interviews throughout the day.
The evening will culminate in a completely informal and party mood as Zimbabwe’s elite UK based models will perform for the most coveted prize in the pageant industry, the Miss Zimbabwe UK Crown for the 10th year running. Being a decade anniversary, the event will be studded by the past Crown Queens, the showbiz hicks, musical artists and the Zimbabwean celebrity world. Hohodza and King Alfred will be captaining the entertaining side of things with musical artists taking up to the stage. Beffta Award nominee Tu Short will be jumping way over his height with his electric track NDIWE and many more.
The Pageant will be electrified by the co-MC’s Eve Parkes & Peter Soko. Outgoing title holder Tendai Gabriella Mudhliwa will be ready and willing to unscrew the crown and fit it to the new Miss Zimbabwe. To spice up things, Pageant organisers have launched an online poll on the official Miss Zimbabwe UK website, http://www.misszimbabweuk.com which gives every Zimbabwean a say on the crown. The poll will remain open until the first model hits the stage. After that, the battle will be taken to the hands of an amazing panel of judges who will evaluate, weigh in and declare Miss Zimbabwe UK 2011. After that, not even the judges will have the power to stop the celebrations and party time till early hours of Sunday. As we all know, glamour is always associated with the Paparazzi, Tim2Soxx (www.tim2soxx.com)
Sunday will see a slow start to the day, giving the patrons a chance to re-energise and prepare for the fun of the day’s sporting and BBQ events. Events will be held at Victoria Park, Corner London Road and Victoria Park Road, Leicester, LE2 1XD. The Zimbabwean community has from beginning of time relished on the Boozers Football competition and the event will certainly not disappoint. Gochi-Gochi facilities will be courtesy of reputable Zimbabwean masters in the trade.
