Collect Handwritten Music Lyrics Through Vintage Seekers

Oct. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Handwritten Lyrics to an Unpublished Song by Mick Jagger and Handwritten Lyrics to Another Day in Paradise by Phil Collins are among the highly collectible scripts that Vintage Seekers has added to its Collectibles section. The Phil Collins lyrics, written on an A4 sheet, are dated 25th July 1996 and framed with a photograph of the singer. Another Day in Paradise was Collins' first single from his 1989 album But Seriously and in 1991 it won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year.

Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger penned his lyrics to this unpublished song in blue ballpoint ink on a small sheet of lined paper.

Another handwritten page of lyrics on Vintage Seekers is that of Hippy Hippy Shake by Stuart Sutcliffe, original bass player of The Beatles. The song was actually written by Chan Romero but Sutcliffe wrote out the lyrics himself on this page a few years later.

Handwritten lyrics are extremely popular with collectors and this is reflected in the prices they often fetch at auction. In 2010, Bob Dylan's handwritten lyrics to The Times They Are A-Changin sold for $422,500, the same year that the handwritten lyrics to The Beatles' A Day In The Life sold for $1.2 million.
