This track, over the years, has become a cult of electronic italo-disco scene. Today, on YouTube, the track "I'm a Vocoder" has amazingly exceeded 50000 views!
By: Gay Cat Park Davide and Graziano, through their passion, in the early 80's had already developed a strong foundation in construction and electronic design. To give just one example, they built their first VIDEO GAME Computer in 1979, buying electronic components in small shops of the time. This VIDEO GAME Computer was the spark that made their friendship stroke. But there was another thing they accumunate: it was the passion for music and singing that had been handed down by their parents. Graziano and Davide, who did not have a lot of money in their pockets, bought their first simple electronic musical instruments and began to modify them to improve performance. So, it was that Davide and Graziano modified an EKO RITMO drum machine for dance rhythm and breaks, added an arpeggiator to the JEN SX 1000 electronic synthesizer, developed some circuitry to get clap sounds. In 1982 Davide and Graziano founded the band Gay Cat Park and released his first single for the italo-disco label "Il Discotto Production". This first record, called "I'm a vocoder",over the years, has become a "cult-track" Davide and Graziano in the 80's worked for a dozen of Italian dance records that had great success with other artists (Duke Lake, B-Blase, Yanguru, Larabell, Stefano Secchi). But their original music, inspired by Kraftwerk and Tomita was not commercial enough to be printed in those years.
