By: John Dineen
This year’s Netvisionary awards were held in the National Gallery of Ireland, which was a stunning setting for this, the flagship event, for the Irish Internet Association. There were 14 categories in all which included: Overall Net Visionary Winner, Best Breakthrough Brick to Click, Best Cloud Service, Best in Digital Marketing, Best Mobile App Developer, Best Online Trader, Best Rookie, Best Open Data Initiative, Best Use of Social Media, Best Web Design, Best Web Developer, eGovernment Award, Innovation Award, Social Contribution and of course 'Best Internet Startup 2011'
John Dineen "We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the main event and the after-party. We are delighted to have won this award. 2011 has been a fantastic year for learnpipe. We are still in the midst of some major changes to how learnpipe works. Picking up awards like this, combined with the daily feedback that we are getting from our customers, really helps to validate the directional choices we have made.
Dineen continued "I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to all who voted for learnpipe as Best Internet Startup 2011. We are genuinely humbled by the support we received and honoured to hold this title."

Two years ago we set out of a journey to change the way people search for education options around the world.
Why? Despite being a huge market, education search really sucks. Google is dominated by “education”
We believe that education search should be a rich, social experience. And that is exactly what we are building.
We call it Social Q&A for Edcuation. Sure lots of sites help people to find courses. But learnpipe does it in a very different way. learnpipe is really a search engine, a social network and a Q&A site all rolled into one.
