Improving Investigations for Michigan Police Officers

Oct. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Daryl Clemens is a crime scene specialist and instructor within the State of Michigan. Mr. Clemens is also the editor for Crime & Clues, which is an online resource for law enforcement professionals relating to the art and science of criminal investigation.

Wesley Clark is a retired Detective Sergeant from the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad. He is the President of LIES Linguistic Interrogation Expert Services, a training and research company specializing in investigative interviewing and criminal interrogation, investigative statement analysis, detecting deception and credibility assessment.

Mr. Clemens and Mr. Clark have maintained contact for several years through professional associations and online networks, but now they are combining their unique skills, training and experience offline and in the field to law enforcement officers and investigators. This training course is three days and will cover topics from crime scene protection and evidence collection to improving information obtained from witnesses and assessing the truthfulness of suspect statements. Specific areas of focus will include evidence, photography, latent prints, footwear, trace evidence, DNA, interviewing, developing rapport, enhancing witness memory, strategic use of evidence within interviews, deception in language, as well as statement analysis techniques.

This unique training program is for sworn law enforcement officers and is being held at the Ramada Plaza in Grand Rapids, MI December 6th through 8th, 2011.
