St. Barnabas to Celebrate Tenth Anniversary of The Washington Place
The tenth anniversary celebration of The Washington Place will be on October 27th, 2011. Invited guests will enjoy a dessert reception from 2pm-4pm.
The Washington Place, formerly Washington School was built in 1931. After 63 years the school closed its doors and the building was renovated into an updated independent living residence at St. Barnabas. The new building opened in 2001 with 23 apartments, the Kean Theater and a beautiful dining room. The Washington Place has become another important aspect to St. Barnabas's 111 year mission of caring.
At the tenth anniversary celebration, Mr. Dean Malissa will portray George Washington in a historical, captivating performance. Malissa has performed as George Washington world-wide on television and at the State Dinner at the White House. Malissa has also portrayed Washington at The Smithsonian Institute and the National Archives.
