Audiogold Release New Album with Artwork Designed by Harry Potter Designers

Audiogold's debut album, Embers and Theories, with artwork designed by MinaLima, the graphic artists from Harry Potter

Oct. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Audiogold | Embers and Theories
What do the band Audiogold and their debut album ‘Embers and Theories’ have in common with The Daily Prophet, Diagon Alley and The Marauders Map? Answer:  graphic artwork designed by Mina Lima (link: http://www.minalima.com/) , the graphic artists on the Harry Potter films.

With over ten years experience spent designing for the franchise, Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima have used their distinctive design style to create an album cover full of depth and colour. The motif of the coloured paper planes is an innocent idea, which suggests simplicity and movement. This fantastic cover design is mirrored in the video for Audiogold’s debut single, (link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T79F2VgbrAA )  involving passers by throwing the origami constructions through the streets of London and Primrose Hill, directed by Andrew McDermott Zero Productions.

It would be too easy to describe Audiogold’s debut album as ‘spellbinding’ …and yet it is.
Due for release on 3rd October, ‘Embers and Theories’ will be the debut album from the upcoming band, who are signed to JAMC records, a sub division of ChinChin records. The London four-piece boast an aesthetic combination of acoustic and electric guitar with a hard rock backbone. By playing at numerous independent music venues across London, such as Camden Rock, The Hoxton Underbelly, Proud Galleries and 93 Feet East, Audiogold has obtained an active fan base and shining reviews.
Hailing from leafy Barnet, Audiogold are Raphael Hurwitz (lead Vocals and guitar) Raphael’s Brother Alex (Bass), Jonny Wanders (Guitar, Vocals) and Marco Cristaudo (Drums). Their material is immediately refreshing; their influences, including Jeff Buckley and Radiohead, are present in their music, but this is not to say Audiogold are a watered down version- instead they bring their own distinctive sound.

Tim Whale, of indiebandsblog.com said of their album:
“Comparisons are drawn from a wide range of musicians and I think this is the whole point of the band; attempting to identify a genre is to miss the whole point of the band. The composition and song-writing skills within the band enable them to craft their own route.”
The first single ‘You & I’ was released earlier this month and is a song that slightly deviates from the rest of the album (showcasing hard rock and electric guitar) and instead gravitates towards a laid back folk song, with powerful vocals and electric guitar. The band also play live regularly and currently have a bi-monthly residency at Proud (link: http://www.proudcamden.com/) in Camden. The next upcoming gigs will take place on the 8th of October with a 5pm spot at Proud, followed by a 9pm performance at Barfly, Camden.
