Casting Directors Seek Key West’s Best Comedic Actors and Versatile Musicians
Monday, October 03, 2011 – This week in Key West, casting directors from Chicago-based Pub Theater Co., in collaboration with Highway Key Touring, will be hosting auditions for “Bye Bye Liver: The Key West Drinking Play."
The show calls for talented comedic actors and actresses between the ages of 21 and 40, as well as a musical accompanist with comedic sensibilities. Appropriate candidates can contact email@example.com with a recent picture and resume to be scheduled for an audition. Ensemble members are paid by performance. Weekend availability required.
“Bye Bye Liver” (BBL) is a high-energy, interactive celebration of adult beverages and all of the joy and laughter they can deliver. Employing a cast of talented local players, BBL creates scenarios firmly anchored in local bar culture, but accessible to a broad audience. While the environment they create is conducive to big parties and alcohol- aficionados, the humor is relatable with or without a drink in hand.
Shows vary weekly, drawing from a large playbook of sketches and drinking games originally debuted in 2006 by Chicago-based playwright Byron Hatfield. In the years since, BBL has tapped into an ever-growing base of creative minds to tweak, add and refine material over the course of 1000’s of performances in five cities
After an initial run of sixteen weekend shows, the Pub Theater hopes to keep BBL active in Key West and add dates on an ongoing basis. The show has been extended repeatedly and become a recurring feature on the entertainment landscape in every market it has played to. Pub Theater Co. supervises concurrent BBL productions in Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, St. Paul and Toronto, with Philadelphia on deck for an October opening.
