Follow on Google News | SHANNON MacDonald – Keeping it Beatle from Cover to Cover! When Beatles artist SHANNON MacDonald isn’t creating lifelike paintings of the Beatles for the cover of books, she’s covering songs made famous by John Lennon and the Beatles.
By: MoonGlow PR Upon returning from the U.K. in early September, and after 2 years of dialogue between SHANNON and author Jude Southerland Kessler, SHANNON began work on painting covers for Kessler’s nine book series on the life of John Lennon. SHANNON’s first painting in the series, titled ‘Standing on the Edge’, will appear on the third printing of Jude Southerland Kessler’s first book, Shoulda Been There, to be released in early November. The lifelike painting was created in just one weekend earlier this month. Now, SHANNON is back in her studio creating a painting to adorn the cover of the second printing of Kessler’s second book, Shivering Inside, to be released in early 2012. Ms. Kessler’s third book in the series, She Loves You, will have SHANNON’s artwork adorning its cover for its debut in 2013. What does SHANNON do in her time off? She’s in the recording studio putting the final mastering touches on the 8 songs that will make up her new CD, RED PYRAMIDS and BLUE SKY, to be released in 2012. Included on the CD, will be SHANNON’s original song ‘Fire Crimson Rose (A Mersey Tale)’ - about a Mersyside dock worker and his love for his wife and family. SHANNON had a little help throughout the making of the album from her friends and several Wings alumni, who upon hearing the demos, where anxious to hop on board. They include: Steve Holley (drums), Laurence Juber (guitar) and Denny Laine (rhythm guitar). While fans wait for the album in its entirety, A red vinyl 7" single of ‘Southern Pacific Train’ with ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ as the B-side will be released in December. Both songs are currently climbing the charts on ReverbNation and ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ is available for download on iTunes. What’s up next for Shannon? She seems to be everywhere.
