Sept. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- What has been hailed by movie critics as one of the best Filipino movies of the year is coming to the U.S. in 7 cities starting October 7.

Touching on the much filmed about topic of extramarital affairs, what make No Other Woman stand out are the dimensional layers of the three main characters: NOTHING is what it seems on the surface.

After a strong premiere night recently in Manila where it earned P15 million, No Other Woman is on its way to becoming a blockbuster.  Early reviews have praised Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes as the new royalty of drama while Derek Ramsay has matured into a stellar leading man.

Ram Escaler (Derek Ramsey) is a charming and dedicated furniture salesman who is married to his “perfect” wife of 3 years, Charmaine Dela Costa-Escaler (Cristine Reyes.) They have a seemingly-wonderful relationship, especially since they’re a young couple, full of zest and with a future to look forward to. But right now, they live in a house that was given to them by Charmaine’s parents as a wedding gift and are still under the influence of Charmaine’s father.

When Ram learns that the owner of the Zalderiaga Group of Companies is looking for a furniture supplier for his latest resort, he immediately jumps on this opportunity. This is the moment he has been waiting for. If he closes this deal, he’ll be expanding his business and earning enough money to eventually purchase their own house and finally live away from the shadows of Charmaine’s parents.

At the resort, Ram catches the eye of Kara Zalderiaga (Anne Curtis); the immediate attraction and sexual tension between them is apparent. Kara continues to flirt with him through the night, while Ram tries his best to resist the temptation. She proposes a relationship with “no strings attached.” Kara tells him she’s not looking to be a mistress, she just wants to have fun and she’s inviting Ram to join her too.

With a reassuring and convenient setup, Ram agrees to go out with Kara but as he does so, both of them realize that this can’t be just a fling as true emotions begin to spring.  It was a realization that will change all of their lives forever, especially when Charmaine finally finds out the secret that her husband has been keeping, and decides to take matters on her own.  How the characters evolve will surprise the viewers as a series of riveting scenes will leave them gasping for breath.

“The start of fall here in the U.S. has always marked the showing of Oscar-caliber movies.  After the lighthearted fun and romantic stories of summer, the darker, thought-provoking films emerge during this season. This is why we thought that No Other Woman is a perfect offering. It is not a movie that condemns adulterers, but does show that dishonesty in relationships does have lasting consequences. It’s a very textured cautionary tale that our mature viewers here should find socially relevant and thoroughly watchable,” said Kerwin Du, TFC North America’s head of theatricals.

Directed by Ruel S. Bayani whose last hit was Paano Na Kaya with Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu, No Other Woman also stars Tirso Cruz III, Carmi Martin, Kat Alano, Jon Arcilla, Ron Morales, KitKat, Matt Evans among others.  The movie is produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films.
