Sept. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota customers have been buying Toyota Prius models since the first appearance of the Prius. There are new models coming out for shoppers such as the Toyota Prius v and the Toyota Plug-in hybrid. Both models have new features their previous family members did not.
The Prius v is going to be larger than other models as its cargo space offers shoppers more room than before. The cargo space will be 58 percent larger than the Prius Liftback. With the final space at 34.3 cubic feet, the Prius v will have more than 80 percent more room than other small SUVs available in the market. The mpg available on the Prius v includes 44 mpg city, 40 mpg highway and 42 mpg combined.
There are three trims available for the Prius v, which include the Prius v Two, Three and Five. Each offer different features and options such as a standard display audio navigation system with the Entune multimedia system; text-to-speech with programmed and customizable responses; heated front seats and more.
The final prices for the different base MSRP models are:
•   Prius v Two $26,400
•   Prius v Three $27,165
•   Prius v Five $29,990
October should see the release of the Prius v for those shoppers interested in more space for the family.
The Prius Plug-in hybrid comes in two models which include the base model and the Prius Plug-in Advanced version. The Plug-in delivers an estimated 87 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) while achieving 49 mpg in hybrid mode. The range on only electricity offers 15 miles at the top speed of 63 mph. Also, it’s an easy recharge for a Plug-in with only needing 2.5-3 hours to charge in a 120v outlet or 1.5 hours in a 240v.
Some features available for the Prius Plug-in hybrid that Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota shoppers may enjoy include heated front seats, head-up display, display audio with navigation and Entune and an integrated backup camera.
Toyota has announced the prices to be:
•   Prius Plug-in Hybrid: $32,000
•   Prius Plug-in Hybrid Advanced: $39,525
These prices are not including a $760 delivery, processing and handling fee. The Plug-in model may qualify for a $2,500 federal tax credit and will be available to 14 states, including New York, starting in Spring 2012.
