Martin Technologies and Grip Tuning Introduce at SEMA Martin Z875 – Newly Engineered 2011 Camaro

Sept. 29, 2011 - PRLog -- Rochester Hills, MI… Grip Tuning, a leading manufacturer of premium body kits and components and division of Core-Tech,  is proud to introduce a new body kit for the 2010 - 2012 Camaro, first developed for the Martin Z875.  

This one of a kind vehicle, a modified 2011 Camaro convertible, features an incredible 875 horsepower engine produced and tuned to perfection by renowned race car builder Harold Martin that revs with a unique roaring exhaust note. The finishing touch is Grip’s aggressive, low to the ground, aerodynamic body kit that includes:  front and rear air dams, rocker panels and a highly styled rear decklid spoiler.

This is the second “Extreme Elegance” vehicle Grip Tuning has developed in partnership with renowned race car builder, Harold Martin.  Both, the Martin V1000, a modified Cadillac CTS-V Coupe capable of 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, and the Martin Z875 will be at the Grip Tuning booth located in the Accessories and Restyling section of the North Hall, booth #13047.  

Grip Tuning’s innovative styling was first introduced at SEMA in 2005 when the company  easily racked up two coveted Chrysler design awards for their interpretive body kit for the 2005 Charger.

Grip Tuning marketing and sales manager, Robert Barnard, says, “We have not exhibited a car at the show for quite a few years.  I feel confident that the Grip product will turn heads and be a strong contender for best of SEMA show cars. It is unlike anything you can find including any of the Camaro special edition vehicles and is designed to outperform the Camaro’s ZL1.”

The Martin Z875 Camaro is built for power on demand featuring a 427 CID blueprinted  SUPERCHARGED/Intercooled engine that produces 875 hp and 710 ft. lbs. torque at 11 psi. Martin’s Z875 engine includes unique pistons, rods, crankshaft and camshaft assembly for this engine program. Martin also developed a CNC cylinder head and intake port to optimize breathing and air flow.  The fuel system is optimize on the Martin fuel flow bench with matching injectors that meet the fuel flow requirements for 875 horsepower.

Each new engine program is installed on one of Martin’s engine dynamometer test cells at their state of the art engineering center.  While testing the engine, the Martin engineering team carefully determines the optimum fuel and spark requirements for the entire engine operating range.  Once this task is completed, Martin develops and tests the powertrain calibration and fuel injection to assure a smooth performer across the rpm band.

Other features include a tubular stainless steel  high performance free flowing exhaust that broadcasts power with a roar,  and 20” luxury BBS black painted wheels  mounted to high grip Toyo Proxes 4 performance tires.

Elegance is further defined with a custom painted engine cover, red and black premium leather interior and Grip’s body style kit made of proprietary composite materials for added strength and durability.
