Better Business Bureau Develops Full Function App for Consumers on the Move

Sept. 29, 2011 - PRLog -- Smart phones are no longer telephones with access to the Internet and email.  They are better described as ultra-portable computers that have the ability to make phone calls.  An estimated 35% of Americans have smart phones, and as that number grows daily, businesses large and small realize the technology is playing a significant role in consumers’ buying decisions.

With that in mind, Better Business Bureau has created a smart phone app called BBBSearch, which is now available for free download from the App Store.  Finding a trustworthy business has never been easier for consumers on the move.

BBBSearch was developed by Better Business Bureau to make its services accessible around the clock and serve consumers' demand for instant information relevant to their daily lives.  BBBSearch offers the same features they access from their laptops and desktop computers.

Consumers can pull up a Business Review to research a company’s marketplace record, search by business name or type of business and even narrow their searches exclusively to BBB Accredited Businesses.  

Aside from contact information and address, when consumers click on "Get Directions," the app opens up the smart phone's map feature to guide them from their current location to a business’s front door.

BBBSearch's interface also allows users to add companies to their contacts or save them as favorites.

Consumers have been cut loose from their home-based computers, and BBBSearch allows them to carry the functionality of the BBB website in the palm of their hands, including access to our Accredited Business Directory.

Business owners are encouraged to let customers know about BBBSearch to show that they are keeping up with the cutting edge of technology, to simplify consumers’ access to their services when away from home.
