Palm Beach Stars shone brightly at NTD's 10th Anniversary Celebration of Chinese Culture and Cuisine

Sept. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- (New York, Sept 25 --- ) The Emperor's Banquet, a lavish celebration of Chinese culture and cuisine took place at Pier 60 in Manhattan on Sunday, September 25th.  The impressive roster of attendees included several Palm Beachers who traveled to pay tribute to Kerry Kennedy, President of  The RFK  Center and indulge in  an exquisite Chinese  feast.

Patrick Harvey and Catherine Saxton were chairman of the Gala. Palm Beach committee members attending included Pia Maria and Stephen Norris, Bob and Paula Butler, Tim Gannon, Jane Holzer, Ava Roosevelt, Judy Grubman, Norka Saad and Maribel Alvarez. Other notables included Jamie Figg, Dick and Donna Soloway and Food Network celebrity host Marc Summers who served as special guest host.   Representing NTD were Zhong Lee, chairman of NTD, Samuel Zhou, VP of PR and Development.  

Guests were welcomed with an elaborate reception featuring a Black River Caviar and Emperor 's Vodka  station where they enjoyed generous tastings of the finest caviar, chased by a chilled shot of Emperor’s vodka poured through an impressive ice luge.    Atlantico Rum on ice, signature mojitos and unlimited quantities of Domodimonti ‘natural wines’ were added treats for the wine and liquor cognoscenti. The state of the art setting was the work of Rex Duval Caterers, who took pain to ensure every last detail was tended to.

The Emperor’s Banquet served up a luscious and lavish TEN course feast. A combination of the finest of Imperial China and the delicious delectables of 21st Century America were served.  

A special presentation during the evening was made to Kerry Kennedy, President of The RFK Center for Justice & Human Rights. Their mission is to realize Robert Kennedy’s Dream of a Peaceful and Just World by Advancing Human Rights. Ms. Kennedy gave a riveting speech and quoted the eloquence of her father.  

Among the dinner highlights were a stunning Han Couture fashion show, a martial arts demonstration by Maestro Long Fei, and a violin performance by Corin Lee, as well as a live auction.  The 3 day getaway in Villa Magnolia donated by Domodimonti wines was the most celebrated auction item of the event.

Charities benefiting from the event included The Sergeants' Benevolent Fund and New York's CITYMEALS ON WHEELS. Other sponsors of the event included Cornelia Spa, Dilmah Tea and Charles Evans Foundation.
