Sept. 29, 2011 - PRLog -- The Gund Company  is proud to announce the acquisition of Polygon Composites' electrical market filament winding and pultrusion business.  TGC has located the manufacturing resources for this business in our newly expanded composites manufacturing and fabrication facility in Queretaro, Mexico.

Polygon Composites, located in Walkerton, Indiana, is a composite materials company specializing in medical tubing, bearings, cylinders, and electrical insulation.

The Gund Company is a manufacturer and fabricator of electrical insulation materials and composites for power systems equipment.  Custom fabricated components and assemblies from The Gund Company are used in the manufacture and repair of generators, transformers, switchgear, power supplies, electric motors, electric furnaces, and related electrical and electronic equipment.

With the continued technological support from Polygon, TGC will expand its composite manufacturing capability into filament wound and pultruded shapes.   Importantly, a common application for these products is electrical fuse tubes which are assembled in Mexico allowing TGC to serve this customer base with improved proximity.

Operating with 7 facilities in North America, The Gund Company has manufacturing locations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  In addition, TGC Jiaxing serves The Gund Company's customers in the Chinese market. We look forward to expanding our capacity to serve our customers as we continue to invest in our composite manufacturing and fabrication capability.
