New England Association of Teachers of English announce 110th Annual Conference

New England Association of Teachers of English, a professional organization since 1901, has scheduled it's 110th annual conference. The theme of the conference for 2011 will be The Common Core: Standards, Values and Creativity in the Classroom.

Sept. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- NEATE, The New England Association of Teachers of English, will hold it's 110th annual conference October 28 and October 29 in Mansfield, Massachusetts. The conference theme is "The Common Core: Standards, Values and Creativity in the Classroom.

NEATE has brought together educators specializing in the subject of English since 1901. The organization has established a strong commitment to inspiring vitality and creativity among educators as well as offering a strong community network where common goals can be achieved and individual visions shared.

The conference will target an examination of a Common Core strategy as related to The Common Core State Standards. NEATE will emphasize creating and implementing meaningful curriculum that will embody the newly established standards. NEATE will also be exploring and identifying strategic ways to foster creativity in teaching and also in the work of students under the new standards.

NEATE also announced that the Keynote Speaker will be Carol Jago, Director of the California Reading and Literature Project at UCLA.

The conference will be held on October 28 and October 29 at the Holiday Inn in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Conference registration forms can be obtained by emailing Richard West at hamphall@aol.com.
