Sept. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- The large Fancy Pink diamond was discovered in South Africa in the late 1990's and has tested entirely nitrogen free, an almost unheard of feat.  It has been held by a private family since that time and has now been officially named "The Celerina"  for all time, honoring the family Matriarch.

The 6.68 ct. Fancy Pink, Modified Pear Shape, nearly totally flawless diamond is one of the most beautiful and now certainly the rarest Pink Diamonds ever discovered.   Being  entirely nitrogen free, it was able to undergo HPHT processing to bring it back to it's "God Given"....truly natural color, rated "Fancy Purplish Pink" giving the diamond an extremely beautiful hue .

Less than .000001% of all "Gem Quality" diamonds are nitrogen free, let alone flawless enough to undergo the tremendous pressure and temperature of the extreme and highly risky process.  If a diamond has even a tiny amount of nitrogen or inclusions (flaws) it can explode into dust during the processing, however if it survives, the natural original magnificent color will return, the one God intended for it originally many miles under the Earth's surface.  (see www.bellataire.com-about-video, rarest diamonds on earth).

Less than 1% of all gem quality diamonds found on earth are colored, and of that 1% over 88% are yellow, leaving an extremely miniscule quantity to represent all other colors.  Pink is the third rarest of the more than 70 recognized colors behind only red and black.  Nitrogen free diamonds comprise an exceedingly small percentage of that remaining colored group and therefore a pink capable of undergoing HPHT, and surviving, is truly one of the rarest diamonds on earth..and one of the most beautiful.  This is also possibly the largest nitrogen free, pink diamond ever discovered.
