The Longest Show Cave In Britain Launch New Website
Obergine are helping White Scar Cave enhance their online presence with a new content managed website which will allow one of Yorkshire Dales best kept treasures to communicate more effectively with prospective visitors.
Obergine were commissioned to re-design the website and ensure that the website was fully optimised for search engines and exploited social media sharing facilities. Alongside the website launch, White Scar Cave have also created a Facebook page and Twitter page to assist in pushing White Scar Caves’ online presence and have undertaken social media training to make full use of these avenues to drive traffic to the website. This has effectively created a platform which sets White Scar Cave apart from the numerous other visitor attractions in the area.
The new website has been designed to provide prospective visitors of the cave with everything they need to know before making a visit. The site will also include a wealth of resources and information for schools, budding geologists and tourists to the Ingleborough area.
Visitors can now browse local places to stay and eat, plan their route to the Cave using the ‘How to get to the Cave’ route planner and even check the weather in real time before setting out.
The content managed website was developed using the Kentico CMS. Kentico was selected due to the high level of usability of the content management system – an important factor considering the frequency of news updates, ability to integrate social media and support for both web and mobile sites.
White Scar Cave was first discovered in 1923 and has since attracted many cave explorers however the new website invites everyone to join in the exploration and explore White Scar Caves’ highlights, the tour hopes to provide a taste of what natural cave formations visitors you could expect to find inside. The same functionality will also allow visitors to explore some of the Cave’s rich history through interacting with the historical milestones.
