By: ImaginePublicity TEAM STACY PETERSON, once again, will assemble to remind the Chicago area, and show the nation, the lives of those in violent situations do not go unnoticed. The team members wish to be the voice for those who have been silenced, showing their commitment to victims by helping the Groundwork program keep their services available. One of the goals of TEAM STACY PETERSON is to focus attention in the media, and in the community, back on the victims of intimate partner violence and missing persons and away from the news coverage of the perpetrators. Stacy Peterson is the missing 4th wife of former Bolingbrook Sergeant Drew Peterson, currently charged with the murder of his 3rd wife, Kathleen Savio. According to Stacy’s sister, Cassandra Cales, “Every time we turn around there’s Drew’s picture in the news again. The media has given him enough attention, let’s bring it back where it belongs, let’s get Stacy’s picture back out in the press, after all, she is still missing!” Stacy Peterson has been missing since October 28, 2007 under suspicious circumstances. Central to Groundwork’s mission is the conviction that victims have a right to realize their human dignity, to regain control of their lives, to develop renewed ways of living that promote harmony and well-being within their families, to exercise their legal rights with and through the support of an informed community. In addition to emergency shelter and hotline services, Groundwork offers legal advocacy, medical advocacy, as well as individual and group counseling to adults and children. Suzy's Caring Place provides long term transitional housing to victims of domestic violence. All of these overburdened services are in desperate need of funding. A nationally known specialist in intimate partner violence, and one who has worked extensively in the Chicago area, Susan Murphy Milano said, “Due to budget cuts nationwide, programs like Groundwork are looking for the public’s help just to keep the bare minimum of services. Time’s up for victims to go unnoticed, like my own mother did over 20 years ago! It’s time for change in the way things are done for victims at every level.” For information on how you can either join a team or make a donation, no matter how small, please refer to the website: http://www.events.org/ Contact information: ImaginePublicity Phone: 843.808.0859 Email: contact@ # # # ImaginePublicity marketing.promotions.publicity ImaginePublicity specializes in securing media coverage and developing grassroots promotions, offering a full range of marketing services locally, nationally and regionally.
