RockSmith Tokyo and DJ Crisis Hit the Road for the First Ever Shut Up & Listen College Tour [2011]

Sept. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Nashville, TN – While embracing his generation’s ever-growing urban movement of individuality, expressed through music and other forms of art, DJ Crisis and friends are setting out on a 15-date 10-city College Tour beginning September 24th in New York City. The SAO Films, www.theLo-key.com, RockSmith Tokyo and Cuestion Tequila backed DJ Crisis Shut Up and Listen 2011 College Tour, will travel throughout the United States to various Colleges and Universities, exposing students to the live DJ Crisis party-rocking experience. Choosing to kick off the tour at the RockSmith Tokyo New York’s flagship store (located 153 Stanton St. NY, NY 10002); DJ Crisis is determined to elevate his talent to a national level. Accompanying this college crowd favorite is You Tube’s HBCU Parody King and host of the tour, Zach Boog, along with performances by Nashville front runner D Goodz.

As a natural ascension to the Nashville based Cool Kids inspired Fresh Fest event, the DJ Crisis Shut Up and Listen 2011 College Tour has similar goals that render a platform for emerging independent artists. Tag lined as the movement within a movement, DJ Crisis hopes to extend the Nashville specific fresh movement and connect with young people and campus communities across the nation to promote higher education, entrepreneurship and individuality.  Serving as the poster child for the work hard play hard lifestyle, DJ Crisis paints a vivid picture of how to blend the before mentioned characteristics into a well oiled machine that in turn fuels your dreams.

DJ Crisis reflects on why he felt it was necessary to jumpstart the Shut Up & Listen College Tour::
“I’ve truly been blessed to have the opportunity to grow regionally [speaking]. I just thought it was about time for me to get outside of my comfort zone. I’m bringing my friends with me, because they need this exposure just as much as I do. Plus it’s cool we can grow together. I never take the time to see who’s in the same lane as I am because I strive to create my own path, and at the same time, make it difficult for others to emulate. I try my best to stand out from the rest so much that it makes it extremely difficult for me to be compared to someone else. This college tour is exactly that; I’m further defining my position in the game”

With backing by one of the most influential street wear brands of the millennial generation, one can understand the role that fashion plays in the tour. Tour attendees can expect to see DJ Crisis, D Goodz and Zach Boog decked out in custom RockSmith Tokyo apparel; with each date’s attire reflecting the university’s colors that they’re featured at. It is the goal of Crisis, Goodz and Zach Boog to shed light on the Hip hop and urbanism movement that focuses on being a fashion statement through self expression by wearing vivid colors, limited edition sneakers, denim  jeans and jackets, along with the recently returned snap-back.

DJ Crisis and his tour mates are hopeful that this run be replicated in a year’s time and annually thereafter; every year becoming bigger and reaching more colleges and universities than the year before, allowing more and more artists to use the avenue as a platform to reach the masses.
