Construction IQ: First of all, please could you introduce yourself to the audience, and let us know a bit more about what interests led to your role as bridge engineer at OBB railways? T Pretaschek: Hello, my name is Thomas Pretaschek. I am part of the ÖBB-Infrastructure AG division Railway Infrastructure and Finance and part of the division Management of Tracks and Stations. So the defined responsibilities, goals, and tasks of this division are the provision of sales and high quality installations and deliberation of medium term maintenance programmes for the entire rail network but also research and development for the rail network. I am not only a technical expert for structural engineering but also head of the specialist division structural engineering, and so my responsibilities are provision of safe and high quality civil engineering structures and installations, and also the specification of the [unclear] provisions for the whole division.
