The LCT300W includes a compact and versatile 1/2-Inch Driver-drill, as well as a powerful impact driver that weighs just 2.8 pounds. The kit also includes a rechargeable flashlight. In my opinion anyway. I`ve got Dewalt 12v drills and 14v green Makita`s. Thought those were fine (they are fine basically). What these 18v Makita drills got going for them is that they are amazingly light for the power and torque you get. They are well balanced in your hand and when you set them down as well. Smaller/lighter batteries that charge much faster is a big plus. Wasn`t sure if I cared for the white/black 'creative' sneakers styling of them but it doesn`t bother me- heh.

Speed control is good on the triggers and I like the fact that they have a built in LED light. It turns on with light pressure on the trigger so you can see what you`re doing 'before' the drill starts turning (cool). Don`t always need a light but it`s very handy to have when you do. Drill speed/torque remains great until the battery finally goes dead real fast (you can easily tell!). Kinda like with alkaline batteries, they hold their useful rated voltage longer. I use both at work in a cabinet shop every day and they are the one item/s I cannot live without. I put them through their paces and they have never let me down. Had them for about 4 years now and am noticing I might want to look around for replacement batteries as the charge doesn`t last as long now(still decent)and they take longer to charge.
