Women Travellers Can Help Revive Egypt’s Tourism

Newly established tour operator, Women’s Tours to Egypt, believes that the ever growing global market for women only tours is an untapped resource for Egyptian tourism and has something unique to offer – tours run by women, for women.

Sept. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Women's Tours to Egypt is dedicated to providing safe, relaxed, carefree and luxury holidays to the ancient and historical land of Egypt.  These small group, women only tours run monthly, commencing November 2011 and vary from 7 - 16 nights.

The founder of Women’s Tours to Egypt, Vanessa Robbie is a dedicated traveller and now resident of Egypt and her vision is to encourage women to visit this beautiful country and to experience firsthand the warmth, kindness and hospitality of the Egyptian people.

Vanessa explains her vision: "I love Egypt, its people, the ancient monuments, the simple way of life and I want to share that with other women.  I understand that it’s not always easy to find a travel partner - maybe your husband, partner, family member or friend can’t travel at the same time or don’t want to visit the same places or have the same interests as you do.  Maybe you are like me and don’t like travelling on your own – I like to share my travel experiences!  So this is why I began Women’s Tours to Egypt.  You can travel safely in a small group, with likeminded women and soak up the culture, history and hospitality that Egypt is famous for".

"In regards to safety, tourists should not be worried about coming to Egypt, in fact Egypt is safer than most western countries - the crime rate is minimal and the Egyptian people are very protective of their foreign visitors.  Our  tours are educational in that our guests will not only learn about ancient Egypt but they will also learn about the role of women in Egyptian society today.  Not forgetting, local Egyptian women will also benefit from our tours as we use female tour guides and visit handicraft workshops run by women which support their local communities".

"The Egyptian tourism industry has been in a major decline since the 25th January revolution.  Large tour companies and individual travellers are still wary of Egypt as a holiday destination.  Tourism is one of the main contributors to the Egyptian economy therefore the decline in tourist numbers has impacted greatly on thousands of families who solely rely on tourism.  Women's Tours to Egypt wants to be a part of helping to restore the vital tourism industry which in turn will aid the lives of many Egyptian women".

Curently there are 4 tour options available: the 7 night Cairo & Luxor tour takes in the major tourist sites with 4 nights in Cairo and 3 nights in Luxor; the 8 night Cairo & Nile Cruise tour has 4 nights in Cairo and 4 nights cruising down the majestic River Nile; the 10 night Cairo, Cruise & Red Sea tour includes a relaxing 2 night stay in the exclusive Red Sea resort of Sahl Hasheesh; and the grand 16 night tour includes Cairo, Nile Cruise, the Red Sea and desert safari.

Accommodations are 5* luxury, staying at the Fairmont Nile City Hotel in Cairo, the Sofitel Winter Palace Hotel in Luxor, the Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh and the MS Farah totally different Nile cruise.  The 4* Badawiya Dakhla and Farafra hotels are used during the desert safari.

With the ancient sites of Saqqara, Memphis, Karnak Temple, Luxor, Temple, Valley of the Kings, Habu Temple, Hatchepsut Temple, Colossi of Memnon, Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo, Philae Temple and the great temples at Abu Simbel there is so much more to Egypt than the pyramids.  The beautiful clear blue waters of the Red Sea are a haven for relaxation and the sand dunes and rock formations of the Western Desert offer a unique and ever changing landscape ready to be explored.
