Sept. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- NEW YORK (September 19, 2011) - Rare earth lithium-yttrium battery inventor and Chinese clean energy pioneer Winston Chung was a featured panelist at the China Center hosted discussion during Climate Week NYC September 19-26, 2011.

Climate Week NYC is an annual summit focused on driving a “clean industrial revolution” by bringing together the world’s leading businesses, governments, and opinion and thought leaders to call for urgent action against climate change.

China Center serves as a primary resource for Chinese companies entering the United States and American businesses seeking new market opportunities in China and leads the trend of Chinese companies going global. During Climate Week, China Center will host a luncheon and the panel discussion on “Low Carbon Opportunities in China” bringing together business and government leaders from China and the US to explore possible carbon reduction solutions and collaborations.

Winston Chung, founder of Winston Global Energy, is a leading lithium battery innovator and fuel cell research philanthropist. His collective investments in transportation enterprises bring together the technology of China and design skill of the United States. His promotion and philanthropic support of green energy concepts and leading-edge battery technology has made him a global thought leader in the sustainable transportation sector.

“My battery is unique in its ability to provide large quantities of stable power, over long periods of time, without deterioration of the quality or quantity of the power over the life of the battery, “ explains Chung. “No other battery, in existence, performs as well nor can any other battery meet the need for power storage in the 21st century.  It is the only workable solution for power storage needed in mobile off-grid applications and stationary on-grid applications.”

“China has the battery and the United States has the skill to make and the demand to use electric vehicles.  Together we can develop a vehicle that will revolutionize transportation and energy consumption, while, at the same time, improve our shared environment,” he continues.

The United States and China are two of the world’s largest greenhouse gas-emitting countries. “ It is important that we work together to meet the challenge of reducing pollution caused by our collective industrial might while meeting the increasing demand for energy by our factories and our people as we try to improve the lives of our citizens in the 21st century,” states Chung.

During his visit Mr. Chung will be an invited special guest at the United Nations South-South Awards recognizing governments, organizations, and individuals for their innovation and entrepreneurial use of the information and communication technologies as a tool for health and development. He is also scheduled to visit key US public policy leaders on Capitol Hill in Washington DC.
