The bi-annual Cottonwood Art Festival features works from the nation's top visual artists. Now in its 43rd year, the prestigious show is rated the fifth-best art festival in the United States, and is the premier fine arts event in North Texas.   WHEN

ADMISSION
Parking and admission to the Cottonwood Art Festival are free. Some children’s events require a fee. The artist’s works are available for purchase. Food and drink are also on sale.
DETAILS Cottonwood Art Festival is a juried show. This year approximately 1,000 artists submitted their work for consideration. Jurors selected only 240 artists to exhibit their museum-quality work. Artists competed in 16 fine art/fine crafts categories: 2-D Mixed Media, 3-D Mixed Media, Clay, Decorative Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Oil, Watercolor, Drawing/Pastel, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Wearable Fiber, Wood and Leather. All works are museum-quality.
HIGHLIGHTS
•   Cottonwood Art Festival is a juried show.
•   All artists are there in person to discuss their work. Meeting the artists and learning about their work make Cottonwood Art Festival a unique event.
•   Cottonwood’s beautiful courtyard/café area borders Cottonwood Lake, the perfect stop to enjoy food, spirits and live music.
•   The lakeside stage will host top local and regional bands.
•   For mini-Monets, ArtStop is the festival’s hands-on, interactive children's area with over 100 volunteers, life size paint brushes and activities no child can resist.

Cottonwood Art Festival’s 2011 featured artist is Jarrod Eastman of Bozeman, MT. His paintings are infused with motion, music, and color, and often walk the fine line between reality, fantasy and the surreal. Mr. Eastman’s art has been shaped by subcultures such as skateboarding, punk, jazz, hip-hop music and a lifestyle centered in the mountains.
