Androscoggin Bank Encourages Local Youth Organizations to Apply for MainStreet Foundation Grant
Androscoggin Bank announced that the Bank is now accepting applications for MainStreet Foundation grants. These grants are provided for local organizations that support the projects, programs and initiatives that ensure the welfare of at-risk youth.
The MainStreet Foundation’s Board will seek applicants from local organizations that provide direct service to at-risk youth including, but not limited to:
• Leadership development experiences of all types
• Promoting literacy and a love of learning
• Coping with homelessness and family discord
• Promoting mental health and developing effective change and coping mechanisms
• Learning life-management skills – learning about earning, saving, budgeting money, and spending money
To be eligible, organizations must provide proof of 501(c) 3 status under the IRS tax codes and have filed a form 990 with the IRS within the last calendar year. Applicants must demonstrate how the requested funds will support efforts that will deliver measurable outcomes with sustainable long-term benefits for at-risk youth.
Grant applications are reviewed three times a year, in February, May and November. To be considered in the current review cycle, applications must be received by email or mail by October 15. Applications received after this date must reapply for the next round of reviews. Additional information on guidelines and criteria for submission, including the application form and details regarding past recipients, is available online at the MainStreet Foundation’s website.
For its entire 141 years, Androscoggin Bank has supported hundreds of organizations by funding new initiatives and responding to urgent needs in the community. For more information on Androscoggin Bank’s community-giving programs, visit http://www.bankoncommunity.org.
