Thermal Imaging Camera Records Ex-Inmate Breaking Back Into Prison

An ex-inmate of New Folsom State Prison was caught breaking back into the facility.
Sept. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Marvin Ussery, who was granted parole in 2009, was arrested on suspicion of being a felon on prison grounds. The incident, which was captured on a thermal imaging camera, involved 30 corrections officers searching the prison yard for hidden contraband which Mr. Ussery may have been attempting to smuggle inside.

Tony Quinn, New Folsom State Prison spokesman, said:

“We quickly determined we did not have an escapee. We found the suspect lying face down in tall thicket near the Prison Industry Authority area.

“The only statement he made to investigators is that he wanted to reminisce. It must have been a great time for him.

“We don’t have any evidence of this in this case, but we have had incidents where former prisoners have snuck back onto the property to hide backpacks filled with drugs, alcohol or phones. Minimum security prisoners then find those backpacks and try to smuggle the contraband into the prison.”
