Slide show: Bastrop Fire leaves city in limbo

Images from the days after the fire as people stress about what's next.

Sept. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- I spend two days in Bastrop Tx  9/10 and 9/11. It was a sad scene where people are spending much of their time waiting to get back to see their homes or if they even have one. The fires did not discriminate against anyone. Young or old, black, white or Hispanic, rich or poor, everyone was a victim in it's path. While city residents mourn, officials say it will take weeks, months and even years for things to resemble normality. In all more than 34000 acres burned and as of September 15. As of mid September, more than 25% of the county was burned and 95% of the beautiful and popular state park is now charred. But as he daily threat of new fires continues the town has to get back to normal. The city is hosting their Friday night football game in town. an emotional event as several of the teachers and kids lost their  homes. Let's hope things get better for them fast.

All financial donations are requested to be directed to the Bastrop Ministerial Alliance: 512-332-8977
