Sept. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Weekend tickets for the festival and Raves on the Waves tickets are selling fast partly due to the recent addition of the BrisFest Underground Afterparty, a two storey carpark next to the festival which is being converted into a digital wonderland, expect the unexpected! A real coup for the organisers and lots of credit goes to @Bristol and the local authorities for getting on board.

With such a massive range of entertainment and advanced tickets starting from the low price of £8 a day, tickets to the festival are going faster this year than ever before.

With a limited number of full weekend tickets including Rave on Avon available the organisers are advising people to pick up tickets before the festival to avoid disappointment, but tickets will be available on the gate too.

Rave on Avon Manager, Andy Smith explained ' we only have 3000 weekend tickets that include access to our city wide nightclub takeover and they are going very quickly, when they are gone, thats it!'

BrisFest's now legendary line up's don’t disappoint this year, with huge local artists Laid Blak, Dub Mafia, Pinch and the Zen Hussies taking care of business. There’s even a workout performance from Mr Motivator on Sunday afternoon and guest appearances from Congo Natty, Rodney P, Dub Pistols, Tomb Crew and more. Alongside another 500+ artists, bands and performers of course!

BrisFest Co-ordinator, Poppy Stephenson said ‘despite the economic issues facing all events this year we feel have a fantastic event and line up and we are all really looking forward to this year's festival. We are hoping the Bermuda Triangle theme will bring out some good fancy dress, and we’ve some real spectacular theatrics planned to end the show'

Next year could see the BrisFest team moving to greener pastures and they are clearly aiming to go out with a bang, BrisFest 2011 takes place next weekend 23-25th September, clearly the best way to goodbye to the summer.

BrisFest is organised by The Bristol Festival Community Group, set up in 2007 to launch a new community focused festival for the South West.

The BFCG were granted full charity status in 2008 (Registered Charity no. 1124722) and key to the group's aims are public consultation, participation and involvement, making the BrisFest the only city wide publicly directed event. As well as organising the festival, the group runs a volunteer training programme including mentoring, skills swaps and work experience enabling members of the community to gain valuable experience in the events and music industry. The BFCG are currently planning the BrisFest Ashton Court Festival 2012 taking place at the Ashton Court Estate next year.

The Bristol Festival 2008 was a resounding success with a brilliant weekend enjoyed by roughly fourteen thousand people, winning Venue magazine’s Top Event of 2008.
The Bristol Festival 2009 was another fantastic event with around fifteen thousand people attending the event from across the UK on the 18th– 20th September.

BrisFest 2010 was a record breaking year with sixteen thousand people attending the festival.

BrisFest 2011: a celebration of Bristol culture, inspiring passion and creativity. A music and arts festival showcasing South West talent from music and dance to cabaret and art
