Nanalulu's Linens goes to the 32nd News and Documentary Emmy Awards!

Sept. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Luanne has been in the antique, collectibles and specialty gift business for over forty years. For fifteen years, she owned and operated her own store in Southern California. When they relocated to New York for her husband’s job, she decided she wanted more time to home school her youngest son. Starting an online business seemed a viable option.

“My grandmother was Nana, my mother and now me,” says Luanne. Nanalulu seemed the most appropriate name for her new business venture, especially since her children and grandchildren were her employees. In October of 2006, Nanalulu’s Linens and Handkerchiefs opened its worldwide doors. Since that day, they’ve had close to four million visitors. Nanalulu started out specializing in antique linens and handkerchiefs but quickly branched out. Recently their bestsellers have been products for the cupcake craze. “I seem to have a knack for pegging the next big trend or that one of a kind gift,” she says.

Val Wilson of Off the Wall Gifts, the official gift organizer for the 32nd News and Documentary Emmy awards, agrees. “We try to find smaller companies that have been up and coming and have the potential to grow, sort of the 'Oprah effect,'" Wilson says. Nanalulu’s Linens and Handkerchiefs is one of only 30 companies invited to participate, all vital, small businesses. Nanalulu’s swag bags will contain brown and gold glassine cupcake liners and sparkly, fall-leaf cupcake picks.  Luanne added, "As a tribute to my mother, who encouraged me to be an entrepreneur, I am including her orange cupcake recipe."

The 2011 News and Documentary Emmy Awards will take place on September 26, 2011 at the Time Warner Center in New York City. 800 of the most influential television and internet news media will be in attendance. This year Larry King will receive a lifetime achievement award. “I hope he likes cupcakes,” says Nanalulu.
