UK: B2C E-Commerce retail sales accounted for 8.2% of total in 2010

Sept. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- The report “UK B2C E-Commerce Report 2011” available at http://www.reportbuyer.com/go/YST00025 states that B2C E-Commerce share on total retail sales accounted for 8.2% in 2010, up from 7.4% in 2009.

According to the report, 10% of British individuals accessed the Internet with their mobile phone in 2010 - above the European average of 7%. UK M-Commerce sales are forecast to rise to over double until 2013. The expected boom of M-Commerce will be boosted by new technologies and the growing penetration of smartphones.

In August 2010, British online consumers spent on average GBP 67 for clothing, about half the online spending for groceries. Tesco, Argos and the Shop Direct Group are leading UK B2C E-Commerce retailers in terms of sales in 2010.
