Sept. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- The trend for modern Indian cuisine and higher standards expected from today's diners has meant that more and more owners of Indian restaurants are changing their menus and looking to update their interiors.

One such restaurant that DV8 Designs has worked with is the Shalimar in Uppermill, Lancashire. Despite a good reputation and constantly good reviews for its food, the Shalimar drastically needed a face lift. The old traditional style was replaced with a contemporary look that would reflect the modern cuisine that the restaurant offered. The new refurbishment included cream leather upholstered booth seating and an elegant wooden curved bar which was finished with chrome features.

A new concept in Indian restaurants is Caffe Am-ma in Wilmslow, Cheshire. This restaurant not only offers the diner high quality Indian food but is also an Indian Tea House complete with Hagen Daaz ice cream bar. DV8 Designs worked with the owners on the design and the interior of this restaurant reflects the modern cuisine that’s on offer, it is light and spacious whilst retaining a cosy feel.

In recent months DV8 Designs has worked closely with a chain of Indian restaurants called Purple Pakora again based in Cheshire. With two successful sites already the management at Purple Pakora were keen to expand their chain further.  Their latest restaurant in Marple Bridge opened recently to rave reviews and DV8 Designs were instrumental in the design paying particular attention to the building regulations that were needed. The once run down building has been transformed and now sits comfortably in this traditional village. Plans are currently under way for another restaurant in Congleton which will no doubt be as successful as others in the chain.

Lee Birchall, Managing Director at DV8 Designs says “With our experience of designing restaurants, bars and cafés, we understand the needs of our clients and the diners. We listen closely to what the client wants and look at the space that we have to work with to design a restaurant that not only looks good but works well and reflects the level of cuisine on offer.”

“Part of the dining experience to us as interior designers is not only the level of food on offer or the standard of service provided but also the surroundings. If a restaurant can create the right ambience it will go a long way.”

There are many laws that govern the restaurant industry. It is important to consult with an architect to ensure that you don’t fall foul to any building regulations, planning applications etc before any major work can commence.
